Royaards, a Dutch cartoonist and illustrator currently living in Amsterdam. He is a self-taught artist and his work has a distinct and recognizable style characterized by clean, crisp lines. He uses little text in his cartoons preferring a more graphical approach instead, in which the image and the objects within the image convey the message non-verbally.
For him, cartooning is a way to share his views of the world. This view translates to cartoons that are never really laugh-out-loud; instead they seek to convey one or multiple (multi-tiered, paradoxical) messages via (hopefully) clever imaging
